Social isolation positivity #3

Always look on the bright side of life! Going into the weekend a bit apprehensive about how it would turn out and it was actually really good. So we started Friday night with yummy whole grilled plaice supper with homemade chips and ‘cheekied-up’ mushy peas (that’s Avis for adding garlic and chillies).

Then we had 2 zoom parties, a family one and to help celebrate Sam-Junes’ birthday. Sound like she had a nice time all things considered.

Me looking a bit nutty on Zoom

Saturday started with a run and a Joe Wick’s 20 min 7 day sweat session. That made us feel good. Then a bit of gardening followed by a face mask, not done one in years so thought why not use one that’s been in the back of my drawer for ages!

A bit too close …but a nice clean face

Then #weestop in our Tulip Lodge aka the summer shed.

A few more family Zoom parties then our starter – tonight was a home cooked Chinese. Peking duck with pancakes to start – yummy! Then a break for a friend Zoom party. Great to catch up with everyone … defo speaking to friends and family more now we are isolated than normal!

Yet another Zoom party, lots of fun and virtual drinking (well actual actually!!)

Then for the main course, belly pork with Singapore noodles! Another yum supper then finally chilling and cuddles with the fur-babies in front of the TV.

A very happy Bonnie-Bons

Sunday was full English breakie (with black pudding – yum) then long walkies day and secret #weestop in the Wood. We hiked up to a bench we knew about only to find 2 girls had the same idea as us and were having a beer on the bench. We found a big tree stump and had our well-earned #weestop!

Good walkies but literally had every weather from hailstones, rain, wind, snow and some lovely sunshine too!

Back home to clean up and then some arvo Rugby watching (an old recorded one unfortunately) with the fire on!

Rugby and fire – my kind of chill

Supper was Cassoulet with some extra chuck and sausage … obviously ‘cheekied-up’ Avis style!

So a good weekend was had!
